For many years the Eaton Fund has provided practical and timely assistance to women, either on their own or with their children, who have found themselves in crisis, compounded by hardship. Our funding programme builds on our experience of supporting these women. Our intentions are:
We are partnering with organisations whose work is well known to us. These organisations support women not just with grants, but with ‘wraparound’ care such as counselling, parenting advice, tenancy support, job training, benefits checks and budgeting, legal and immigration advice, and help with insolvency. Partner organisations frequently assign a case worker whose continuing moral support can be the help that a woman needs when she feels isolated and distressed.
Our partners cover a range of specialisms including help for women from minority communities, refugees, women involved with the criminal justice system, women struggling with addiction, women who experience homelessness, young care leavers, and women fleeing domestic abuse. In many cases beneficiaries have experienced a range of these problems.
Most of our partners are using our funding to help women to set up or maintain safe homes and lives for themselves and their children. One organisation, Christians Against Poverty, helps with insolvency solutions where women are struggling with unmanageable debt.
